Danish Deluxe Dining Chair Suite –
This dining chair had been broken at the front leg and rail and then badly repaired. We stripped off the old upholstery then broke down the chair into its pieces. Using aged Teak Birch Restorations was able to patch the broken leg and then re-glue the frame. The Birch Restorations team then cleaned the old finish and colour blended the repair. The process was then repeated with the other five(5) chairs. The Danish Deluxe chairs were given a final oil rub and wax finish bringing out the natural beauty of the Teak timber. The dining suite was then ready to be re-upholstered.
To restore a piece of furniture (furniture restoration) you need the skills of the original furniture maker. You need to know the character of the materials used to make it. You need to be able to graft in new materials where the old have deteriorated beyond repair.
Antique dealers have let the Birch Restorations team pull antiques apart (and put them back together) for years.
Birch Restorations have mastered the techniques, styles and materials of each period. They will match the character, colour and patina of the original timbers from their stores of old wood and match details for authenticity
It’s this expertise and attention to details that has won Birch Restoration repeat business from antique dealers and restorers, as well as the individuals who have entrusted Birch Restorations with their most precious pieces of furniture to repair.Birch Restorations Contact Us – 03 9553 6224 We are professional furniture restorers, furniture repairs, french polishers, cabinet makers, and wood carvers.
